June 16, 2010: KORT’s 2010 Sports Medicine Camp and Camp Director, Katie Korte, ATC were featured in an article in Louisville’s Courier-Journal newspaper Neighborhoods section. The week-long day camp, held at Spalding University in Louisville, targeted middle school and high school students interested in sports medicine, athletic training, physical therapy or health care careers. The camp included an introduction to taping; proper equipment fitting; hot versus cold treatments; shoulder anatomy, injuries and evaluation; introduction to CPR and first aid (including CPR testing); spine boarding, knee and ankle injuries, basic weight training, and rehabilitation of common sports injuries. June 10, 2010: Hilbert Potter, PT and the LEAP Program were featured in today’s Louisville Courier-Journal newspaper. The article describes the LEAP Program (Lower Extremity Amputee Program) and profiles patients who have participated in the program. June 9, 2010: KORT Nicholasville was featured in an article in the Jessamine Journal newspaper. The event, sponsored by KORT along with seven area physicians who donated their time, offered discounted sports physicals to nearly 100 students from middle and high schools throughout Jessamine County. Proceeds from the physicals will support a KORT scholarship as well as a fund to support East Jessamine athletics. Read more...

June 4, 2010: Assistant Clinical Director Shannon Burke, PTA of KORT Brandenburg was featured in an article appearing in The News Standard newspaper of Meade County. The article, “A comfortable places where all the aches, pains disappear,” highlighted Burke’s background and expertise. June 2010: KORT Tates Creek therapist, Matt Hall, PT, OCS, has served for a number of years as a community-based faculty member of the free University of Kentucky Salvation Army Physical Therapy clinic on West Main in Lexington. The clinic is staffed by physical therapy students and faculty members and serves members of the community who lack insurance or are unable to afford PT services. Matt and the student-run program are featured in the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences 2010 Report on Outreach. (reprinted here with permission)

April 21, 2010: At the Annual Best Places to Work in Kentucky Awards dinner held in Lexington, six-time winner KORT was ranked 14th in the state in the large company category. KORT was highest ranked healthcare provider of the eight companies that have been winners for the six consecutive years of the BPTW program in Kentucky. The Best Places to Work in Kentucky program focuses on eight core focus areas of employee engagement and satisfaction: Leadership and Planning; Corporate Culture and Communications; Pay and Benefits; Overall Employee Engagement; Role Satisfaction; Work Environment; Relationship with Supervisor; and Training and Development. Employees are surveyed and their responses to 76 questions of the assessment constitute three quarters of a company's score.
