The Athletic Trainers within KORT are comprised of Board Certified Athletic Trainers who advocate for the health and safety of all athletes they work with. KORT's Athletic Trainers aspire to provide medical care with the highest degree of professionalism, honesty, and compassion. Working directly with the athlete and collaborating with parents, coaches, and other health care providers we ensure that the athlete is able to participate as safely as possible.

Concussion Management Program

More than a year ago, KORT implemented a new concussion management program to better assist in the diagnosis, treatment and recovery of those injured. The KORT program does initial baseline cognitive testing of athletes to determine where they are prior to any injury, on-field injury management, coordination of treatment with the student's physician, post-concussion physical therapy, and post injury testing (using the initial baseline test) to determine a student athlete's ability to return to play safely.

Barren County High School Glasgow	Preston Brooks, ATC. Preston is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state licensed with the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from Bowling Green State University. He is working as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team (KORT), while earning his Master's degree in Athletic Administration from Western Kentucky University.
Ballard High School Louisville	Matt Kendzior, ATC. Matt is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. He has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University.
Bethlehem High School Bardstown	Jennifer Hayden, PT, DPT is a native of Bardstown. Jennifer completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2008. She joined our team in 2003 after graduating with her Master's of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky. She received her undergraduate diploma in Exercise Science/Sports Medicine from Campbellsville University. In addition, Jennifer is a Certified Athletic Trainer. She has provided sports medicine coverage for area high schools. She enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic conditions especially pediatric and sports related.
Brescia University Owensboro	Steven Herrenbruck is our certified athletic trainer working through KORT with Brescia University. He is a 2009 graduate of Murray State University and is currently completing his Master's Degree in Athletic Training from the University of South Florida. Steven joined the KORT staff in August of 2012.
Butler High School Louisville	Naomi Sprigler, MS, ATC. Naomi is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Master's Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Purdue University.
Central High School Louisville	Kristen Pollock, ATC. Kristen is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. Kristen earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from The Ohio State University and her Master's Degree in Exercise Science from The University of Toledo.
Christian Academy Louisville	Renee Beck, ATC is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She received a Bachelor of Science from Indiana State University.
Collegiate High School Louisville	Mike Palmisano, MS, ATC. Mike is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. Mike earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his Master's Degree from Syracuse University. He spent the 1986 NFL season as an intern with the Philadelphia Eagles. After earning his Master's degree he was the assistant football trainer for the University of Louisville.
Eastern High School Louisville	Kevin Brown, MEd, ATC. Kevin is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. He has a Master's Degree in Applied Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor in Science in Sports Medicine-Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University.
East Jessamine High School Nicholasville	Kathleen Wilson, ATC. Kathleen is certified in the state of Kentucky and with the National Board of Certification. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with specifics in Athletic Training from the University of Evansville in 2008.
Indiana University SE New Albany, IN	Tiffany Hammond, MS, ATC. Tiffany is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with Indiana and Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Master's Degree in Sport Management from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor in Education with a concentration in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from the University of Louisville.
Jeffersonville High School Jeffersonville, IN	Daniel Thomas, ATC. Daniel is nationally certified through the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) and is state licensed with Indiana State Board of Medical Licensure. He has a Bachelor's Degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training from Southern Illinois University. At SIU, he worked with football, men's basketball, track and field as well as numerous club sports. He served as a student intern with the Southern Illinois Miners baseball team (Frontier League).
Kentucky Country Day Louisville	Ray Hibbert, ATC. Ray is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state licensed with Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from Franklin College. Ray is a certified personal trainer by the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF).
Louisville Ballet Louisville	Regina Durbin PT has over 25 years of experience as a physical therapist. She has a strong manual therapy background, with interests in orthopedics, at all levels, but especially in shoulder, spine and feet. She has over 20 years experience with orthotic fabrication. She has been the primary physical therapist with the Louisville Ballet Company since 2005. She has extensive experience in job analysis and industrial medicine for the injured worker.
Louisville Lightning PASL	Amanda Carroll, MS, ATC. Amanda is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Toledo and a Bachelor in Science from Indiana State University.
Madison Central High School Richmond	Cassie Kavanaugh, ATC completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004 where she worked predominately with the UNI football team, but also had other rotations with UNI women's basketball, UNI wrestling, UNI track and field, Cedar Valley Physical Therapy, Columbus High School, and Cedar Falls High School. She completed her internship at Charleston Southern University. She served as the head athletic trainer for the softball team and assisted the head athletic trainer with football.

While attending SIU, she worked with football, track and field/cross country, men's basketball, and softball.
Moore Traditional School Louisville	Crista Manley, MAT, ATC. Crista is a certified athletic trainer and member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and she is certified by Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Master's Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Findlay and a Bachelor in Science from the University of Louisville.
Nelson County High School Bardstown	Cody James, MS, ATC has a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Heildelberg College. He is nationally board certified and licensed in the state of Kentucky. He has worked with the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team during spring training as well as the Triple A baseball team, the Tucson Sidewinders.
Presentation Academy Louisville	Adrienne Combs, MS, ATC. Adrienne is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor in Arts from Franklin College.
River City Roller Girls	Crista Manley, MAT, ATC. Crista is a certified athletic trainer and member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and she is certified by Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Master's Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Findlay and a Bachelor in Science from the University of Louisville.
Sacred Heart Academy Louisville	Kristen Fryzel, ATC is a certified athletic trainer (National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification) and is certified by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Valdosta State University. She has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since June 2002. In 2008, Kristen was named the Kentucky High School Athletic Trainer of the Year.
Seneca High School Louisville	John Handley, ATC. Nationally certified with the National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification and state certified with Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. Received undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville in 1998 with a Bachelors in Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science. Spent four years working professional baseball with the St Louis Cardinals and one year with the New York Mets. Have also worked at the collegiate level as Head Athletic Trainer at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. From there spent 5 years working with a large group of orthopedic surgeons at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville, SC treating a wide range of patients from pediactric, highschool and college athletes, and general public.

St. Catharine College St. Catharine	Justin Farr, ATC is the head athletic trainer at St. Catharine College. Justin is an employee of KORT (Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team) who is contracted to St. Catharine College to provide sports medicine coverage for all St. Catharine's athletes. He comes to us with a wealth of experience in athletic training experience including the Richmond River Rats (a Prospect League Baseball Team), Preble Shawnee High School in Camden, OH, NCAA Division 1 athletics with Ball State University, and a orthopedic assistant at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Justin is also an accomplished umpire, for he has umpired in the Prospect League, NAIA and NCAA games, and will also be umpiring in the 2011 Little League Softball World Series. He is a graduate of Ball State University and is very excited to be with the St. Catharine family.
Trinity High School Louisville	Bill Cubbage, ATC. Bill is nationally certified with the NATA Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. He was selected by the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (SEATA) as the 2010 High School Athletic Trainer Of The Year. Bill obtained his Degree in Physical Education from the University of Louisville in 1983. He has worked at the Professional, College and High School levels for over 25 years. Bill is the past vice president of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society (KATS) and winner of the KATS Award of Merit in 2004.
Valley High School Louisville	Kate Korte, MS, ATC. Kate is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. Kate earned her undergraduate degree from Ball State University in 2007 and her Master's Degree in Health Promotion from Oklahoma State University in 2009. While at Oklahoma State University Kate was the athletic trainer for the Men's Cross Country and Track teams.
Waggener Traditional High School Louisville	Jeff Paschall, ATC. Jeff is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state certified with Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. He has a Bachelor in Science from the Metro State College of Denver.
Washington County Springfield	Jennifer "Jenna" Meyer, ATC. Jenna is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state licensed with Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She has a Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Indianapolis where she worked with the Wrestling team in addition to working with Avon High School.
