Sports Medicine
The Athletic Trainers within KORT are comprised of Board Certified Athletic Trainers who advocate for the health and safety of all athletes they work with. KORT's Athletic Trainers aspire to provide medical care with the highest degree of professionalism, honesty, and compassion. Working directly with the athlete and collaborating with parents, coaches, and other health care providers we ensure that the athlete is able to participate as safely as possible.
KORT provides premier sports medicine coverage and cutting-edge educational and prevention services to local schools and community groups. Since 1987, KORT has been the foremost provider of sports medicine services in the region. Doug Means, Director of Sports Medicine, talks about KORT's athletic trainers and what they do for athletes of all ages.
When Tim Green started at KCD, his first phone call was to KORT for an Athletic Trainer. Tim says KCD wants to offer the best in everything, whether it's the best in facilities, the best in coaching, or the best in athletic training. Naturally, they picked KORT, The Best in Rehab.
Concussion Management Program
More than a year ago, KORT implemented a new concussion management program to better assist in the diagnosis, treatment and recovery of those injured. The KORT program does initial baseline cognitive testing of athletes to determine where they are prior to any injury, on-field injury management, coordination of treatment with the student's physician, post-concussion physical therapy, and post injury testing (using the initial baseline test) to determine a student athlete's ability to return to play safely.
